The Conservative Party is a large and complex organisation, representing and involving people with a diverse range of backgrounds, interests and concerns.  It is a broad church, which encourages open debate and accepts differences of opinion.

We will be positive, constructive and reasonable when holding the Government to account, and we will be thoughtful, open-minded and energetic in developing the ideas and policies we need to meet the long-term challenges Britain faces.

These are the six big challenges I believe we face. They're complex, interconnected and require serious long-term thinking. I want to make sure we get these challenges right, and that means listening to the views of as many different people as possible."
