Six pubs and clubs in Maidstone have been presented with a Gold award for their work in making their premises a safer place to socialise.
Maidstone was the first in the country to receive the Safer Socialising Award, and now the Safer Maidstone Partnership has recognised six of the town’s night time businesses for their work in making their premises safer and reducing anti social behaviour.
Strawberry Moons, Hotshots, Jumpin’ Jaks, Ikon, Project Blue and the Style and Winch were presented with a certificate by Assistant Chief Constable Adrian Leppard, Town Centre Manager, Bill Moss, and Co Chairman of the Safer Maidstone Partnership, Trevor Gasson.
Trevor Gasson said: “These awards highlight the fantastic work carried out by night time businesses in Maidstone. Joint working between organisations in the Safer Maidstone Partnership has ensured that, despite its lively night life, Maidstone is a very safe town – day and night.”
The Safer Maidstone Partnership, incorporating Maidstone Borough Council, Kent Police, Town Centre Management, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and a range of other local partners, works to create a safer environment by reducing crime, disorder and anti social behaviour.
