
Stephen Paine is a Conservative Councillor for Maidstone’s Fant Ward.
He currently chairs Maidstone Borough Council’s Leisure and Prosperity Overview and Scrutiny Committee (dealing with matters of regeneration, culture and the arts) and has interests in spatial planning and community development, as well as green open spaces.
Stephen was elected councillor for Fant ward in 2008 at the age of 22. He has a BA (hons) in Social and Political Sciences having graduated from Selwyn College, Cambridge in 2007. He was born in Fant in March 1986, and has always lived in the ward.
Being and active and dedicated Member of Maidstone Borough Council, Stephen has proved to be an asset not only to his neighbourhood of Fant Ward but also to Maidstone and the Weald as a whole, achieving much in his first term as Fant's Borough Councillor.
