May I introduce myself as the new chairman of this constituency association having taken over from Brian Moss earlier this year. I am delighted to have been chosen at this exciting and challenging time for the party both nationally and locally.
As you know we had great success in the recent council elections in Maidstone and the Weald. It is important that we build on this success as well as continuing to support our MP Helen Grant. Your new team of Treasurer Peter Gosling, Deputy Chairman Political Nick De Wiggondene and Deputy Chairman Fundraising and Membership, Gail Hall and I have set ourselves some key priorities for this year which we really need your help and support with.
- Supporting Helen and our local councillors through continued campaigning
- Strengthening the Association’s finances through enhanced fundraising
- Increasing our membership
- Improving our communication with members and other supporters
I am married to Ginny, have 3 grown up children and have lived in Cranbrook for the last 22 years. I work in London so can be found regularly commuting from Staplehurst. I am a local secondary school governor, and in the remainder of my spare time, such as it is, enjoy sailing, running and playing cricket and golf badly.
